It’s gray and raining, so the Doctor and I decided it was time for a proper fall cocktail to
celebrate commiserate the weather. I decided to work with the flavors of the season: allspice, ginger, vanilla, and apple.
Feeling lazy on this rainy night, I just put all the ingredients in a glass and mixed it a bit.
- 2.5 oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
- .5 oz Ginger Liqueur
- .25 oz St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
- .25 oz Averna Amaro
- 2 dashes Apple Bitters
If I had any to work with, I would consider making this drink with apple brandy or apple jack instead of (some of the) bourbon, and changing the apple bitters to barrel age aromatic bitters. Not having the apple brandy right now, I can’t promise you it would work, but I’d love to try it.
